23 Mobile Things #2: Mobile Device Tips

Okay, information overload here!  Since I am playing catch-up, I will admit to trying to do too much at once, and so am a bit overwhelmed by everything I did NOT know about my iPad.  I can be a bit forgiven about my iPhone, since that is relatively new, (I had your basic "flip" phone before).

Some of the things that I have now just discovered --

  • I can take screen shots of my iPad -- that is something I am going to find very useful as I regularly take screen shots of webpages on my desktop/laptop whenever I need to remember a webpage or what was on that webpage
  • I now have messaging activated on my iPad -- didn't have that before and will be useful as I text more than I call
  • I can now add emoticons to my text messages!  I know, not exactly a big deal, but certainly a great deal of fun
  • I learned which apps I can turn off in order to save on battery life -- always a good thing
And there is more to explore, now I know where to go to find tips and tricks

23 Mobile Things #1: Blogging

I had set up this blog back in 2008 with the original "23 Things On A Stick" and then kind of left it hanging.  So, naturally, in order to use this blog for "23 Mobile Things" I  had to remember what email address I used for it, what the password was and update my Avatar picture -- all requiring hunting for forgotten pieces of paper, and dealing with now multiple (personal & institutional) gmail accounts.

I am looking forward to learning more about how to use my mobile devices -- I have had an iPad for about a year now, but haven't had the time to really explore what it can do, and just recently acquired a smartphone -- of which I know even less.

As just an FYI -- since I created this blog, Cat-itudes, I have acquired TWO more cats -- and they may play a role in 23 Mobile Things -- and Ernie the cat (whose picture is in the side-bar) is still going strong and still monitors my computer activities, he now has two extra helpers when he is taking his numerous cat-naps.

Let the exploring begin!
